What you should know about ENTYVIO (vedolizumab)

Do not receive ENTYVIO if you have had an allergic reaction to ENTYVIO or any of its ingredients. ENTYVIO may cause serious side effects, including infusion-related and serious allergic reactions while receiving ENTYVIO or several hours after treatment. ENTYVIO may increase your risk of serious infections. Although unlikely, progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), a rare, serious brain infection caused by a virus, cannot be ruled out. Liver problems can occur with ENTYVIO.

What are the most common side effects with ENTYVIO?

In clinical trials, the 5 most common side effects of ENTYVIO included cold symptoms, headache, joint pain, nausea, and fever. Please see table below for additional common side effects.

Some patients using the ENTYVIO Pen experienced a range of injection site reactions, including pain, swelling, itching, hives, bruising, rash, or redness at the injection site. In trials for UC, injection site reactions were reported in 10% (11/106) of patients using the ENTYVIO Pen. In trials for Crohn’s, injection site reactions were reported in 3% (8/275) of patients using the ENTYVIO Pen.

Additional questions

Can I receive ENTYVIO if I get pregnant or if I’m breastfeeding?

Always tell your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. A registry of pregnant women treated with ENTYVIO found that there was no increased risk of adverse pregnancy or infant outcomes.

Tell your healthcare provider if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. ENTYVIO can pass into your breast milk. Talk to your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby if you take ENTYVIO.

What should I avoid when taking ENTYVIO?

Do not receive ENTYVIO if you have had an allergic reaction to ENTYVIO or any of the ingredients in ENTYVIO. See the Medication Guide for a complete list of ingredients in ENTYVIO.

Studies have not been done to see how ENTYVIO interacts with alcohol. Speak with your healthcare provider for more information.

Is ENTYVIO considered an immunosuppressant?

ENTYVIO is not considered a systemic immunosuppressant. It works by blocking certain inflammation-causing cells from entering the gut.

Does ENTYVIO cause tiredness?

In clinical trials, 6% of people taking ENTYVIO experienced fatigue, compared to 3% taking placebo.
